Volunteering at SAS

Summit South depends on the help of all parents for the safety, success, and outstanding experience we are committed to providing as a community of home-educating families.

Before school starts in August, a SAS Sign-Up Genius will be available where you can sign up for the days, times, and jobs that best fit your family’s needs.

It is strongly suggested that each family volunteer 10 hours. This allows us to be able to keep student fees low. Volunteering is a great opportunity to get to know other homeschool families and build community.

The vision of Summit Academy and Summit Academy South is to bring parents, students and community members together to create an educational environment where students can flourish.  To support that vision, we highly encourage each family to volunteer 10 hours a year to support students during the school day.  This also helps keep student fees low. Volunteering is a great opportunity to get to know other homeschool families and build community. We will do our best to place you in an opportunity that is a good fit for you!

How to Fulfill Suggested Volunteer Hours

• You will sign up for your job preference and date on the SAS Sign-Up Genius. This allows you to pick days and hours that fit best in your family’s schedule.

• Show up on the day and time that you signed up for and complete your job.

• Once you have completed a job please follow these steps to log into Praxi and report completion.

  1. Log into your family’s account.

  2. Click the three lines at the top left of the screen.

  3. Under Volunteer select, Family Hours.

  4. Click the ADD Record button.

  5. Put the date served, select the type of job, and minutes or

  hours completed, and save the transaction.
