SCHOOL NEWS

FALL SUPER TESTING DAY Thursday, October 16, 8:30am to approximately 11:30am
All 10th & 11th grade students will be taking the PSAT/ NMSQT exam.  The PSAT/NMSQT is a preliminary SAT/National Merit qualifying exam.  It serves as practice for the SAT and provides a way to enter the National Merit Scholarship Program for college scholarship, and offers opportunities to connect with colleges and explore careers.

  • THERE WILL BE NO SCHOOL FOR 7, 8, 9 & 12 GRADE STUDENTS.

  • 10TH & 11TH GRADE STUDENTS WILL BE RELEASED AT THE COMPLETION OF THE EXAM.

SENIOR SEMINAR PRESENTATION REVIEWERS NEEDED
Each of the 103 members of the Class of 2026 will be presenting their Senior Seminar capstone projects on October 14, 15, and 16.  We are looking for volunteers to evaluate and provide feedback on the students’ presentations. Each student will present for 13-20 minutes on a topic within their chosen career field.  Your time, attention, and feedback are greatly appreciated.  Please click on the link to sign up. STUDENT FEES
As the quarter wraps up, this is a good time to check for any fees still outstanding.  Here is a quick tutorial on how to find the fees on Infinite Campus: Paying Student Fees.  Fees can be paid online or in-person.  For any questions, contact Craig Melville (cmelville@jajags.com).

  • Not all fees need to be paid at once.  While this helps us if they are all paid at once, you can split them up for what works best for your household.

  • A parking pass only needs to be purchased if your student intends to park in the student lot.  The price will drop in the second semester if your student does not get their license until then.

  • Yearbooks and PE T-shirts only need to be purchased if you want those items.

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES
Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, October 16th. If you have concerns about your student that can be addressed in a quick conference, please make plans to attend the open house hours from 3:30pm to 5:30pm or 6:15pm to 7:30pm. If your student is doing well and you have no concerns, we encourage you to spend an evening celebrating their success. If you have concerns that will take longer to discuss, please contact the teacher to set up an appointment. Friday, October 17th are invite only conferences. Invitations will be emailed out by Ms. Adams or individual teachers.

DONATIONS NEEDED
Environmental/Jaguar Warrior Club is in need of empty pasta jars. We are looking for 14oz or bigger jars and will be decorating these for every teacher to have one. We felt that repurposing pasta jars to allow for donations to save Jaguars would be a great investment for our future and our program going forward. If you have any to donate after a nice family dinner, please deliver these to Mr. Kirkley at the Secondary.
