Field Trip - Denver Zoo
Time & Location
About The Event
Summit is going to the Denver Zoo on Wednesday, February 13th for Secret Science Days. The zoo will hand out maps to the students, and they will have the chance to go to key locations in the zoo where experts will be able to share their knowledge of that particular exhibit. This is a great experience for a wide age range, as the zoo experts are able to cater to the specific students that come. The students will receive a stamp at each location they go to and can win a prize at the end.
You MUST RSVP by FEB 5th! We will need full payment at the school either Thursday before the trip: 01/31 or 02/07.
From the Zoo:
Did you know that everything we do at the zoo to care for our animals involves science? Uncover the secret science animal care professionals use every day as they care for our 4,000 wild residents!
Teachers spark your student’s interest in science as you explore real world animal care challenges in these special discovery days at Denver Zoo. Secret Science Day maps lead students throughout the zoo to gain an insider view into ways that keepers, veterinarians, nutritionists, trainers and exhibit designers meet the challenges of caring for our wild family.
Zoo staff and volunteers will help your students uncover the inside workings of Denver Zoo, encourage them to make observations at exhibits, discuss ideas with their peers, and share what they’ve learned. The more they engage, the more they discover – students who interact with Secret Science Day experts receive tips on where to see exciting shows and demonstrations, interact with keepers and vets, and meet live animals up close!
